Biography

Dr. Philip S. T. Cheng is a full professor of Department of Physical Education, National Taiwan Normal University. Professor Cheng has been a teaching faculty at NTNU since 1994. He is also a guest professor at Beijing University, Beijing Sport University, South China Normal University and Fujian Normal University in China, Hanyang University in Korea, Juntendo University in Japan and the University of Peloponese in Greece. Professor Cheng previously was Department Head of Physical Education and the Foundation Director of Public Relations at NTNU. A graduate of NTNU (B.S., 1985), he is the FIRST Taiwanese to study in the field of sport management in the US. He received his master degree of sport management at Michigan State University in 1990 and his doctoral degree at the University of New Mexico in 1992. Internationally, he served as a Board Member on the Committee of Beijing Olympic Economy Study, 2008, Treasurer of the Asian Society of Sport Management. He has been acting as Secretary General of the Asian Association of Sport Industry since 2008.
