Biography

Dr.Robert Alan Sloan serves as Fitness Scientist with twenty-two years’ experience in the academic, private and public sectors combined. Nine years in Japan and five years in Singapore focusing on physical activity, obesity prevention, metabolic fitness, and mHealth.Experience in epidemiological and experimental research. Holds a current position with Kagoshima University Graduate Medical School.Trained at the Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute in New Orleans, LA and the Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research in Dallas, TX. Worked for the U.S. Navy Public Health Centre and the Singapore Ministry of Health. Completed a Ph.D. in Public Health, MA in Exercise Science & Health Promotion and a BA in Psychology. Licensed Clinical Exercise Physiologist (LSBME & ACSM), and a Certified Community Health Education Specialist (NCHEC).

Research Interest

physical activity, obesity prevention, metabolic fitness, and mHealth.
