Biography

Shuzo Kumagai Professor Ph.D. Professor of the Faculty of Arts and Science, and Graduate School of Human-Environment Studies in Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. He was director of Institute of Health Science (2012-2013) in Kyushu University. He was the chairman (1999-2011) and chief editor (2011-2015) in Japanese Society of Health Promotion, and vice president (1999-2011) and chief editor (2006-2010) in Japanese Society of Exercise Epidemiology. Main research area is health and exercise epidemiology on metabolic syndrome, cognitive decline, dementia, and mortality in community-dwelling population. He published textbook (chief editor) titled in “Introduction of Health and Exercise Epidemiology: For the Development of Evidence-Based Health Promotion” by Igaku-Shuppan, Tokyo, Japan, 2008 (Japanese).
