Biography

Dr. Juan J. Canales is a Reader in Behavioural Neuroscience in the Department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour at the University of Leicester (United Kingdom). Professor Juan Canales investigates the neuroscience of drug addiction in humans and why only a small percentage (about 15 per cent) of people become addicted while others do not. Currently investigating the neurobiology of drug addiction in humans and experimental models, characterising novel receptor targets as a therapeutic option in addiction and psychopathology, and exploring the involvement of adult hippocampal neurogenesis in health and diseas
