Dr. Penelope Koraka is a post doc leading the Lyssavirus Research Team at ARTEMIS. She is currently also affiliated at the Dept. of Viroscience of EMC where she is participating as principle investigator in FP7 VECTORIE and FP7 ANTIGONE projects. She was recently involved in the characterization of Duvenhage virus and as a principle investigator of FP7 ANTIGONE project she studies markers of virulence and pathogenesis of Duvenhage as well as other lyssaviruses. She has several years of experience in studies on pathogenesis and control of arboviruses and zoonotic viruses including dengue, West Nile and Chikungunya viruses.
