Sajid Mahmood

Biography

Dr. Sajid Mahmood completed his bachelor degree of medicine (MBBS) in 2005. Among those subjects included in the undergraduate curriculum of the MBBS, that of ‘Community Medicine’ caught my attention, as he had always been more interested in disease prevention than cure. After completing his clinical internship, he decided to move completely into public health rather than pursuing his career as a clinician.
To further develop of his career and interest in research he joined as a Research Officer Training Programme in the Department of Community Health Sciences at Aga Khan University in October 2006. During this time he took various research courses which helped his to narrow down of his area  interest for public health. In order to pursue his career as researcher and to equip hisself with epidemiological and bio-statistical skills, he joined the MSc Epidemiology & Biostatistics Programme in 2007 at Aga Khan University. Thereafter, he enrolled on the MPH programme at the ScHARR, to enhance my managerial and leadership skills that are necessary to be a complete public health professional. After completion of MPH in 2010, he ontinued his academic journey as a postgraduate research (PGR) student at ScHARR.
