Mr. Nizar is Senior Lecturer in Department of Physiotherapy at UTAR and has been a member of the faculty since 2011. His commitment to teaching excellence earned him accolades during his tenure at UTAR. His research interest spans a variety of topics in multi-sensory reweighting, core stabilization training and diabetic neuropathy. He also takes great interest in utility of a variety of cutting-edge technologies like motion-based video game systems for rehabilitation. Mr. Nizar presented his research findings at international conferences and published articles in prolific journals. A few of his academic articles have been translated to other languages. In 2015 he was invited to present his research paper by Ministry of Science of the Russian Federation. He serves as reviewer of high end academic journals from United States and scientific committee member of international conferences.
Mr. Nizar served as Head of the Department of Physiotherapy at Mahatma Gandhi University, India. He was appointed as External Examiner for post graduate examinations on several occasions at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore, Calicut University and Kannur University.
He attended specialized training programs on Kinesio-Taping, Stroke Rehabilitation etc. He is a member of Malaysian Physiotherapy Association. His professional career outside academic arena includes working for Cauda Equina Syndrome UK Charity and Sedentary Behavior Research Network. He earned a Masters’ degree in Orthopedic Physiotherapy from Mahatma Gandhi University, India.
