Prof. dr med sci, ph d. Lars Arendt-Nielsen (LAN) is founder and director of the international Center for Sensory-Motor Interaction (worlds largest translational pain research center, www.smi.hst.aau.dk), Aalborg University, Denmark; and cofounder and head of R&D, C4Pain, Aalborg, Denmark, a research based CRO focusing exclusively on phase Ib, II and III trials in pain and inflammation. The research focus is on 1) translational pain research, 2) experimental methods for the assessment of pain from skin, muscles and viscera in healthy volunteers and pain patients and 3) development of human pain bio-markers for screening of new analgesic compounds in humans (volunteers and patients),
