Sergio Bergese

Biography

He is currently in working as Professor-Clinical, Anesthesiology, Physician, FGP-Anesthesiology and Associate Professor-Clinical, Neurological Surgery. He graduated from The National University of Cordoba School of Medicine and continued postgraduate training at The Ohio State University. A board certified anesthesiologist specialized in neuroanesthesia, He also received training in general surgery and completed a fellowship in cellular immunology. In addition, He completed training and received a certificate in business administration with a focus on business administration in anesthesia. He held a position of assistant professor in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Neurological Surgery at The Ohio State University until promotion to clinical associate professor three years ago. Since 2007, he was appointed director of neuroanesthesia. Being the leader in neurosurgical anesthesiology, he actively pursued the plan to organize a clinical fellowship program within the department.
He have participated in numerous national and international meetings as an invited lecturer, spokesman, moderator, chairman and an honored guest. Since his promotion to work as an associate professor,he have had over 100 international presentations, lectures, and grand rounds. He have been an invited speaker at neurosurgery meetings for his team approach to care for the neurosurgical patient, as well as others in the surgical arena. In appreciation of his professional accomplishments he have been invited to participate in development of 3 national guidelines as a peer-selected member. He have contributed significantly to development of national guidelines to manage postoperative nausea and vomiting, stroke, and cognitive disorders.
