Biography

Dr. Tetsuro Sakai was currently working as Professor in Department of Anesthesiology in University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in USA. He has completed his fellowship in University of Toronto, Clinical/ Research Fellow, Cardiovascular Surgery. After becoming a board certified cardiovascular surgeon in Japan, Dr. Sakai worked as a visiting instructor of thoracic organ transplantation surgery at UPMC under Dr. Bartley P. Griffith from 1999 to 2001. Upon completion of anesthesiology residency in 2005, he joined the faculty and became a member of hepatic transplantation anesthesiology. He pursues his research interests in clinical, basic, and educational fields. Dr. Sakai has been elected to a member of Association of University Anesthesiologists (2013), promoted to Professor (2014), and appointed as inaugural Director of Scholarly Development (2014).

Research Interest

His research expertise areas are Hepatic/Multivisceral transplantation anesthesiology. And his research interest are Educaton in resident scholarly activity.
