Zhiqing Xing

Biography

Dr. Xing is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama. He attended medical school at Beijing Medical University and completed his orthopaedic residency training at Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China. He then completed a visiting fellowship at Fukuoka Orthopaedic Hospital in Japan. In November 2002, Dr. Xing came to the U.S. and since then has completed extensive training in both orthopaedic research and clinical orthopaedic surgery. He completed training in orthopaedic research at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic and at the University of California at San Francisco. For clinical training, he completed fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of New Mexico, Adult Reconstruction at the Virginia Commonwealth University, and Musculoskeletal Oncology at the University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center. In October 2011, Dr. Xing joined the faculty of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama and practices at the University Hospitals as well as Cancer Surgery of Mobile at Infirmary Health System.

Research Interest

His research specializes in Musculoskeletal Oncology, treating benign and malignant tumors involving the bone and soft tissue. He is also experienced in treating bone fractures and complex hip and knee replacement.
