Biography

Dr. Peng Fan is currently a research associate professor in Department of Metallurgical Engineering at University of Utah, Utah, USA. He obtained his Ph.D in metallurgical engineering from University of Utah in 2004. He is the author and co-author of one book and 28 papers published in refereed journals including JACS and Acta Materialia. He is also the inventor and co-inventor of three US patents, one of the patented technologies being successfully commercialized. He has been awarded, as PI, NSF grants totaling around $1.3 million. Dr. Fan’s expertise is in the fields of powder metallurgy, hard material, functionally graded materials, extractive metallurgy and thermal energy storage materials. He completed many paper and proposal reviewing work for scientific journals and funding agencies.
