Abstract

This paper presents a state space mathematical dynamic model of Aerodynamic and Structural model of a 5MW wind Turbine .Three different dynamic models of wind turbine structural oscillations are implemented in MATLAB and results are compared to check the verification of results obtained by the referred literature in which the lumped model response matched with detailed open-loop numerical simulations using the Fatigue, Aerodynamics, Structures and Turbulence (FAST) code and were used to analyze the vibration in the wind turbine for wind speed variations varied from 15m/s to 17m/s. This paper also gives an overview on the requirements of suitable robust control design aspects of wind turbine to various abnormal conditions and to maintain system stability and reliability.
