Yellela SR Krishnaiah is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics in the College of Pharmacy Nova Southeastern University Fort Lauderdale USA. He received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Andhra University India in 1993. Dr. Krishnaiah obtained his bachelor degree of Pharmaceutical Sciences and master’s degree of Pharmaceutical Technology from the same university in 1981 and 1984 respectively. He has 25 years of teaching/ research experience in “Pharmaceutics/ Drug Delivery”. Dr. Krishnaiah has 162 research publications with more than 700 research citations to his credit. Dr. Kanwar is an immunologist and molecular biochemist with an international reputation in investigating fundamental and applied molecular aspects of cancer and chronic inflammation. Before joining Deakin University in 2006, he was a Senior Scientist/Senior Research Fellow in the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. Mitchell Ho is an Investigator and Head of the Antibody Therapy Unit in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the National Cancer Institute NCI. Dr. Ho received his PhD from the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign where he studied monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of cocaine addiction as a National Research Service Award Fellow with Mariangela Segre. Prakash Nagarkatti is currently an Associate Dean for Basic Science, Advisor to the Vice President for Research, and Carolina Distinguished Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Defense Research & Development Establishment and Jiwaji University in 1981 and pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at McMaster University. He is also the Director of NIH-funded Center of Research Excellence on Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Autoimmune and Inflammatory Diseases.  He has held faculty positions at the University of Kentucky, Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University.  He has received numerous awards from the International Congress of Mucosal Immunology, Society of Toxicology, and the Virginia Academy of Sciences.  He has served as a Chair of several NIH Study Sections, Editorial Boards of journals and a reviewer for several national and international funding agencies. His research has generated more than $20 million and he has published over 140 papers.

Dr. Su Chen Chief Executive Officer at the Chainon Neurotrophin Biotechnolohy Inc, Texas USA got his Ph..D. in Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan of Italy, and was a post doctoral research fellow in Italian National Research Council at Padova. After his research position as Senior Research Fellow at Department of Chemistry of the University of Warwick in UK, he joined in Department of Pharmacology at Rush University School of Medicine as assistant professor, and then Quest Diagnostic Nichols Institute as depatmental associate scientific director in the US. Dr. Chen has contributed significantly in areas of chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology of marine phospholipids， particular in development of docosahexaenoic acid DHA  containing phospholipids for treatment of neurodegenerative disorders and infertility. He already published more than 44 articles and 3 book chapters in the field of lipids. Dr. Chen now is the Secretary-General of the International Society of Dietary Supplement and Phytotherapy from 2011 to 2014.

His current interest is to investigate bioavailibility of highly abundant docosahexaenoyl phospholipids and to prepare or use the lipids as brain DHA donors for prevention and treatment of Alzheimers disease. Dr. Chen has obtained a Chinese patent and applied for three US utility patent applicatons in this particular field.

Dr. Anekonda received a doctoral degree from the University of California UC at Berkeley, postdoctoral training from the UC Davis and Alzheimer’s disease and retinopathy-related research experiences from the Oregon Health and Science University OHSU at Portland, Oregon. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at OHSU. The long term goal of his research is to define the neuroprotective mechanisms of herbal and non-herbal drugs at molecular and cellular levels and determine their treatment options for Alzheimers disease.  The molecular pathways downstream of beta amyloid production are of particular interest: intracellular calcium, tau pathology, anti aging sirt1 and autophagy.

He currently serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow from American Heart Association in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Georgia Health Sciences University, Augusta, Georgia, USA. The long term of his research is to define the mechanisms by which cardiovascular diseases such as obesity, hypertension and diabetes induce vascular endothelial dysfunction. Arginase is an enzyme that competes with nitric oxide  synthase for their common substrate, Larginine, thus decreasing NO bioavailability. Growing evidence shows that elevated arginase activity is a key mediator in endothelial dysfunction and plays a critical role in cardiovascular diseases. In particular the downstream signaling of the activated RhoA or Rho kinase and Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase pathways leading to increased arginase activity/expression is been determined. Dr. Toque expects that his results will provide new information regarding the factor that activates arginase and their role in cardiovascular diseases and will help to identify possible therapeutic targets for preventing diabetes induced endothelial dysfunction.

The overall aim of my study is to better understand the mechanistic basis of vascular dysfunction, in order to identify new targets and develop new strategies to prevent endothelial and erectile dysfunction in hypertension and diabetes. We are particularly interested in determine the downstream signaling pathway by which diabetes induces endothelial dysfunction. We identify that activation of arginase is involved in diabetes and play a key role in cardiovascular diseases. We expect that understanding the mechanisms of diabetes-induced vascular dysfunction will help to identify possible therapeutic targets for preventing complications in cardiovascular system.

I have received my M.S. degree in Biophysics from Kiev State University and Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Ukrainian Academy of Science in 1984. In 1992, I started my career in cancer research at the University of Kansas Medical Center. In March of 1997, I was awarded a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Palladin Institute of Biochemistry, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and continued my postdoctoral training at the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. In July of 2002, as a Research Assistant Professor, I joined the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University, followed by a faculty position at the Department of Radiation Oncology. The experimental cancer therapeutic has always been my key research expertise. Recently, my scientific interests extended into areas of tumorigenesis and developmental biology. Since 2010, I am a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Gorman earned a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry from the University of Georgia, Athens Georgia. He currently serves as mentor and research advisor to 7 PharmD students and has published over 35 peer-review journal articles, 2 book chapters and 24 abstracts.

Hugh Smyth is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy, The University of Texas at Austin. He is also an Adjunct Associate Scientist at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, Albuquerque, NM and Chief Scientist of Respira Therapeutics. He has a Pharmacy and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Otago , New Zealand. He has been a faculty member at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and at the University of New Mexico. He was the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) New Investigator award winner for Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technologies in 2007. He also received the PhRMA Foundation New Investigator Award in pharmaceutics in 2007. During his study of biology Dan Seiler worked as a member of the nursing staff at Kiel University hospital. Post-graduate he quit this job to accept a position in the special research division 313 at Kiel University. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 1999 he worked short time as a medical sales representative. In order to place more emphasis on academic work he then became an academic assistant and project manager at different CROs where he was responsible for all aspects of phase I clinical trials according to GCP standard. He also managed HPLC and LC/MS/MS analyses according to GLP standard of both clinical and toxicological studies. Dan Seiler is currently working as a medical advisor at Helm AG, a company specialized in chemicals which also develops generic products. There he supports project teams with scientific advice and is responsible for the conduct of clinical studies. He prepares clinical and non-clinical expert statements and replies to question raised by regulatory authorities.

Burton Yang received his PhD degree from the University of Manitoba in 1992 followed by a postdoctoral trainings in Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Yang took a position as a scientist in Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology University of Toronto in 1995. Dr Li’s main areas of research interest are: Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of polymyxins; discovery of novel antimicrobials, including new peptides against polymyxin-resistant pathogens; and antimicrobial chemotherapy against Gram-negative, superbugs, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Paul Rösch was born in Heidelberg Germany July 13, 1952. He is the Director Research Center for BioMacromolecules Bayreuth also Professor and Chair, Department of Biopolymers, University of Bayreuth. He acted as a Dean and vice dean of the Faculty for Natural Sciences II University of Bayreuth. He has received a PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research Heidelberg was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and graduation from JustusKnecht Gymnasium Bruchsal. He was the recipient of Max Planck fellowship for work abroad. He is serving as an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Bioequivalence Bioavailability. The Open Spectroscopy Journal The Open Magnetic Resonance Journal etc and as a member visiting scientist spokesman of many reputed Universities scientific research institutes.

My research interests and activities over the past six years have mainly centered around three areas: Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, Biopharmaceutics and drug delivery systems design. In addition to these research areas, I was also actively involved and passed successfully a “Pharmaceutical Bioinformatics” electronic course organized and taught by Uppsala University, Sweden. More recently, I have started working in the emerging area of drug delivery to the periodontal pocket, in particular gelling systems for treatment of periodontitis and testing these systems on human volunteers. This work as well as others necessitates collaboration with periodontist from faculty of Dentistry as well as collaboration with Microbiologists. In progress, there is a patent application that has been submitted through King Abdullah International Medical Research Center to register my formulation internationally.

1- Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology for drug/gene delivery: I have worked on the design of biodegradable nanoparticles, loading of drugs/nucleic acid (siRNA) and release studies; I have recently developed a method for testing high concentrations of nanoparticles for their cytotoxicity and internalization of on fibroblasts and macrophages cell line. The developed protocol was recently published in book series “Methods in Molecular biology” which included intracellular trafficking and bioimaging of nanoparticles by fluorescent and confocal microscopy. I have also explored the interaction of the nanosystems with cells and the subsequent cellular uptake either non-specific or by receptor-mediated endocytosis. The later mechanism would involve numerous cell-surface receptors, which I have reviewed in an expert opinion on drug delivery recently. Extensive collaboration with polymer chemists was initiated to test their engineered nanoparticles. This work has resulted in 5 international publications in peer reviewed journals with high impact factor (IF 3-6), one review (EODD) and 2 book chapters (Methods in Molecular Biology) and Novapublishers. 2- Drug delivery & biopharmaceutics: Drug administrat
