John C. Alverdy MD FACS is the Sarah and Harold Lincoln Thompson Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago. He is the director of the Laboratory for Surgical Infection Research and Therapeutics at the University of Chicago and director of the minimally invasive surgery center for complex gastrointestinal disorders. Associate Professor Munish Puri is an established leader in the field of Industrial biotechnology (microbial bioprocessing). He has contributed towards the development of protein biotechnology processes with respect to industrial proteins/enzymes.
