He also holds an Endowed Chair in transdermal delivery systems.  Dr. Banga has a Ph.D. in pharmaceutics from Rutgers University, NJ.  Dr. Banga has over 220 publications and scientific abstracts to his credit. Hilmi Orhan is professor of toxicology at Ege University, Turkey. He obtained his Ph.D. in toxicology in 2000. During the PhD, he received a Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council TUBITAK or NATO A2 grant and performed studies at the Division of Molecular Toxicology, Vrije Universiteit-Amsterdam. He worked as post-doctoral fellow for two years in the same institution, and visited the same and different departments in time. Dr. Orhan was appointed as associate professor in 2006, and as full professor in 2011. He is the recipient of Bo Holmstedt Fellowship award in 2008. He obtained his ERT European Registered Toxicologist title in 2008.
Dr. Orhan has authored 27 publications in peer reviewed international and 12 publications in local journals. His publications have received about 400 SCI citations. He has taught toxicology at both graduate and undergraduate levels and successfully supervised 6 M.Sci. students. 
 

His research activities are in the area of biomarkers of cellular damage on proteins, lipids and nucleic acids, mediated by chemicals. In addition, characterization of reactive intermediates upon biotransformation of drugs and drug candidates and their contribution to adverse effects are current research interests of Dr. Orhan.

Prof. Luis Eduardo Quintas is a biochemical pharmacologist in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has received his PhD in Pharmacology or Biophysics in 2001 and did postdoctoral training in University of Toledo, USA, working on P type ATPases, especially Na or K ATPase, and currently investigates the pathophysiological regulation of ATPases and the effect of cardiotonic steroids on Na or K  ATPase mediated signaling transduction. He also integrates the Program of Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry aiming at the pharmacological screening and development of new drug candidates.

Roderick Slavcev specializes in gene therapy and biochemistry of nucleic acids with experience in both academic and industrial settings. Avery is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi.  She is also an Associate Research Professor in the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences also housed at the University of Mississippi. Victoria Samanidou is an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry in the Chemistry Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her current research activities include: method development and validation by HPLC with applications in the analysis of organic substances in forensics, toxicology, food, biological, pharmaceutical and samples of environmental interest using various modern sample preparation techniques. The first aspect of my research interest is different pharmaceutical aspects of cancer therapeutics. Such aspects encompass discovery of novel anticancer agents, elucidation of their mechanism of action, and pre-clinical development. The second aspect of my research interest is employing nano-medicine and nanotechnology in cancer therapeutics through developing different types of nano-particles for targeted drug deliver, therapeutic gene delivery and other potential therapeutic applications in cancer therapeutics.

In 2004, I obtained the BSc degree in Biology and the BSc degree in Biochemistry by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. From 2005 to 2008 I was granted with a pre-doctoral FPU grant from the Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte of Spain to do my PhD in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, in the group leaded by Prof. Antonio Villaverde. During my PhD thesis, I was also granted with a Boehringer Ingelheim short-term fellowship to do a stay in the internationally recognized Institute of Applied Microbiology of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna, Austria, in the group leaded by Prof. Diethard Mattanovich. Soon after my PhD, I started a new period as doctor in the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Bioingeniería, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina CIBER-BBN. Moreover, since my incorporation in CIBER-BBN, I have also been coordinating the technical aspects of a Protein Production Platform.

Dr. Afzal Mohammed is a Pharmacist who read for his PhD in 2005 which was followed by a Post Doctoral position working on the development of freeze dried subunit vaccines for the treatment of tuberculosis. In October 2007 he was appointed as a lecturer at Aston University. His research interests include formulation development of orally disintegrating tablets by direct compression and freeze drying, formulation of oral liquid nanomedicines and understanding the genomic signature of drug delivery systems using microarrays. His research group has published extensively in various international journals and work from his laboratory has resulted in the filing of two patents. Dr. Mohammed has published 25 research articles and over 60 abstracts at national and international conferences. He has been successful in attracting research income from government bodies and pharmaceutical industries.

Dr. Maffia received his BSc in Pharmacy in 1994, his MSc in Pharmacology in 1996 and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2000 all from the University of Naples Federico II , where he became Aggregate Professor of Pharmacology in 2006. He joined the University of Strathclyde in 2006 as Lecturer in Integrative Mammalian Biology. He is currently Lecturer of Cardiovascular Immunology at the University of Glasgow (UK). He is a scientific referee for several peer-reviewed journals including Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, British Journal of Pharmacology, European Journal of Immunology, Heart and Vessels, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Mucosal Immunology, Stroke and others. Dr. Maffia also served as external referee for a number of funding bodies including Medical Research Scotland and Asthma UK. Dr. Maffia has authored more than 30 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals including Circulation, PNAS, ATVB and Stroke.

Dr. Maffia long term research interest is inflammation and the role of the immuno-inflammatory response in cardiovascular diseases. Current research activities address the imaging and study of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis, neointimal formation and stroke.

Dr. Giovanni Tosi was born on 1977. Since 15th November 2005, is researcher in the scientific field of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Actually is confirmed researcher, at the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and belongs to the faculty of Pharmacy.

The research activity is based on the development of lipid and polymeric systems for the delivery and the targeting of drugs to diseased tissues or cells. In particular, the fields of research could be summarized as follows:
Drug delivery to the Central Nervous System, by using nanoparticulate vectors  in particular, the research is focus on the planning, preparation, characterization and administration of Np after surface modifications. By applying in vivo pharmacological tests, personally performed by dr. Tosi, several interesting results have been reached, confirming the high potential of these systems. In particular, the Np, loaded with selected drugs or labeled with fluorescent dyes, were found to be able to cross the Blood-brain barrier, opening the study to the possibility of a non-invasive treatment of cerebral pathologies. At the same time, considering the guidelines of the European Community and FDA, a number of studies on the biodistribution of these vectors, by using fluorescent dye and HPLC/fluorimetric methodologies, have been performed. Several awards have been obtained by the works and the papers published on international journals Jorge Heller Oustanding Paper Award, 2005 or at congresses Innovation price, AFI2005, AFI 2006.
 Preparation and optimization of liposomal nanocarriers for the delivery of gene material in particular oligonucleotides in Keratinocytes biological target: skin pathologies. After in vitro test, the research reached an increased transfection efficacy mediated by these novel vectors , confirmed by confocal microscopy and citofluorimetric analysis.
 Validation of the characterization techniques for colloidal/nanoparticulate carriers; in particular, the research focused on the optimization of the use of atomic force microscopy, applied to the morphological and surface characterization of lipidic nanovectors (liposomes and solid lipid nanoparticles.
Synthesis and chemical modification of polymers and lipids with an overall aim of drug delivery; this field of research is now developing with the help of collaborations with Italian and European partners; the aim of this research is focused on the recognition of strategies and technologies for the preparation of specialized drug delivery vectors (immune-Np, immune-liposomes).

The research activities involved in development and validation of analytical method follow the International Guide Lines as ICH for qualitative and quantitative molecular determination in complex biological and environmental matrix as serum, plasma, bile, liver and Hypothalamic tissue, kidney, feces and urine, for structures valuations of natural and artificial chemical system with different complexity and aggregation state.
In this contest, pay special attention to pre-analytical step as samples handling, extraction and purification procedures, separation methods, enrichment, application of HPLC, ESI, MS/MS combined method for the accurate, sensible and selective drug and metabolite determination that were difficult to determine with traditional detectors as UV/Vis or ECD.
This analytical procedures were applied to: glucosamine hydrochloride, 5 amino salycilic acid, natural and synthetic bile acids, drug and its metabolites, in particular for pre clinical study applications for the determination of pharmacological parameters, bioequivalence, absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion ADME. Now research line was implementing to development of predictive model applied to HPLC method for the determination of xenobiotics. Another scientific research area is the qualitative and quantitative evaluation development and validation of new analytical assay of natural compound secondary metabolites were shown to exert in vitro and in vivo anti-cancer activity. Scientific activity was attested by publication on international journal, by oral and poster communication at international congress. Dr. Ismail Murat Palabiyik graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ankara and obtained PhD from Department of Analytical Chemistry, Facult of Pharmacy, University of Ankara. Currently, he is working in same department. His current research is developing analytical techniques for drug analysis from dosage forms and biological fluids using with capillary electrophoresis, high performance liquid chromatography, spectrofluorimetry and UV spectrophotometry. Beside this, for investigating effects of experimental factors on analysis in HPLC and CE methods, he utilized Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Also, he is specialized in chemometry and worked one year in department of pharmacology and studied diabetes treatment. He is a Visiting Scholar, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Faculty of Pharmacy, Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Analysis and worked with Professor Jos Hoogmartens group in liquid chromatographic column characterization. I have been work for  years as a clinical pharmacist in oncology ward and for years as a head of clinical pharmacy department in 4 hospitals which are AL Rasheed general hospital, Abo-guraib general hospital, AL Iskan hospital for children and AL Furat general hospital.

Iam very interested with clinical pharmacy research that taken place within oncology field and genetic polymorphism. I focus in my research on the main side effects that taken place within solid cancer patients like neutropenia, nausea and vomiting, anemia, thrombocytopenia and hypercalcemia as results of the cancer disease it self or because of chemotherapeutics treatments used. Also how genetic polymorphism can clinically effect on the action of treatments which used as a part of guidelines to prevent these side effects. Iam interested with statistical analysis because I believe by using suitable statistical analysis your research will give the required objectives. 

He earned his Ph.D. from University of Mumbai, India and Post-doctorate from Kyoto Pharmaceutical University, Japan. I am a Ph.D. from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Doctor Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar M.P., India. I have done my postgratuation in Pharmacognosy and Natural Products from the same department. My specialization in M. Pharm was on the memory enhancing and anxiolytic activity of Shankhpushpi. I have done phytochemical and pharmacological investigations on all the different varieties of Shankhpushpi. Markers have been isolated and characterization and standardization parameters have been developed for this drug using analytical techniques like HPTLC, HPLC and Spectrofluorimetry. In my doctoral programme, I worked on the effect of herbals on benign prostatic hyperplasia BPH and prostate cancer. Successful phytochemical investigations led to the isolation of markers from the tested plants and we have found new leads in the prevention and treatment of BPH and prostate cancer. Presently our lab is engaged in antiandrogenic evaluation of natural products, newer aspects of protein delivery, vaccine formulation and enhancement of metabolite content in cultured cells utilizing Plant Tissue Culture. Raj Kumar was born in 1979. He received his B. Pharm. in the year 2001 from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, India. He started to study chemistry in 2001 at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Punjab, India, where he completed his M.S. (Pharm) thesis under the supervision of Prof. Asit K. Chakraborti, FRSC. After completion of his degree in 2003 he joined Discovery Research, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, Hyderabad, India as a research chemist. He then returned to NIPER to work on his Ph.D. thesis, again under the guidance of Prof. Chakraborti. After the completion of his PhD in 2007, he joined Prof. R. S. Hosmane’s research group at University of Maryland Baltimore (UMBC), USA. Then he worked as an assistant professor at ISF College of Pharmacy, India in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences for 2.5 years. Presently, he is working as an assistant professor at Centre for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Central University of Punjab, India.

His primary research interests focus on the design and synthesis of novel small heterocycles as anticancer, antimalarial and xanthine oxidase inhibitors along with their method development if required.
