Scott A. Johnson, MA, LP, has a Master’s Degree in Counseling & Psychological Services from St. Mary’s College. He is a Licensed Psychologist (Minnesota) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Specialties in Forensic Psychology. He has over 28 years experience addressing sexual predators as a forensic psychologist, author, educator, and police trainer. He was involved in the civil commitment of sexual predators for the state of Minnesota for several years. He is trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels for colleges. He currently an adjunct professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). For many years he has provided forensic consultation and trainings nationally to law enforcement addressing sexual predators & physical abusers. He is the author of several book chapters, booklets, research, journal articles and other professional materials. His books include Physical Abusers and Sexual Offenders: Forensic Considerations & Strategies (2007), When “I Love You” Turns Violent (2005), and Man-To-Man: When Your Partner Says No (2013). The National Judicial Education Program for Legal Momentum is using Mr. Johnson’s textbook Physical Abusers and Sexual Offenders: Forensic Considerations & Strategies (2007) to educate Judges about sexual offenders and abusers (www.njep-ipsacourse.org). Mr. Johnson’s work and books are being used nationwide to educate professionals (including judges, police officers, probation officers, and forensic mental health professionals) about physical abusers and sexual offenders.
