His key research domains are Medical, Environmental and Food Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Genomics and Proteomics, Molecular Modeling and Computational Drug Designing. His major research focuses are selection and screening of novel herbal therapeutic against probable drug targets of multidrug resistant bacteria isolated from various sources by computational drug discovery and structure based virtual screening approaches. He has modeled and validated novel drug targets for several pathogenic Gram negative bacteria and viruses such as Ebola by computational biology approaches. He has also screened novel chromophoric and fluorophoric therapeutic metabolites towards drug resistant bacteria from symbiotic bacteria associated with the marine sponges present in coastal areas of South India. He has also been working on the application of novel thermophilic bacterial consortia screened from extreme environments as an eco-friendly approach for the degradation of low and high density polyethylene. In addition to AMI, he is a member of several scientific societies such as American Society for Microbiology (ASM), Association of Microbiologist of India (AMI), Indian Science Congress Association, Society of Biological Chemist (SBC), Environmental Mutagen Society of India (EMSI), International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) etc. He has published 33 International papers in reputed journals with good impact and citation report and presented more than 60 scientific papers in various National and International conferences and symposium.
