Dr. Aldhamen obtained his bachelor degree in biomedical sciences from King Saud University, his Masters degree in Molecular Pathology from University of Toledo School of Medicine , and PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University.

Research Interest

Dr. Aldhamen's expertise is in development of clinical translational research, as well basic science development of gene transfer technologies, and their potential for use in infectious disease and cancer targeted immunotherapies. Specifically, his research focuses on understanding the interaction between the innate and adaptive immune system and the role of specific innate immune pathways (SLAM/SAP and NLRP inflammasome signaling) in the development of CD8+ T cell immune responses to targeted tumor- and infectious disease-derived antigens. He is also interested in understand role of ERAP1 gene polymorphism in the development of autoimmune (including type I diabetes, Multiple sclerosis, and ankylosing spondylitis) and inflammatory bowel diseases.
